The SAME Day I had the pleasure of judging a
Yorkshire Terrier specialty, and they were fantastic! As it turned out, my dog Certificate
winner, Ch. Suis de France d'lela and my bitch Certificate and BOS winner, Luxuri de
France d' lela, as well as the third place winner from the Open class, all came from the
same kennel in France, with the dog and bitch being half brother and sister, both sired by
Ch. Edizione Speciale delle Antiche Mura. But the real thrill for me was to find out later
that all of my winners, including the Best of Breed dog, Ch. Mister Hobby, came down from
the same line and were all were related to my Winners Dog (who was from Italy) when I
judged the Yorkie National in New York. The Best of Breed winner was sired by Ch.
Talismano delle Antiche Mura out of Diva Divina delle Antiche Mura; their breeder,
club vice president Antonella Tomaselli, did not exhibit any dogs herself, but her
breeding was behind all the top winners.
The qualities that all of the winners had, besides correct color and texture of coat, were
beautiful heads, correctly shaped dark eyes, and small, beautifully shaped and correctly
placed ears the three virtues that contribute to correct expression in a Yorkie."
